HUGE 35" Kestner 1860s Antique CHINA HEAD Doll Curly Flat Top, china arms, vintage designer dressMINT
I am parting with another LARGE china head doll from my collection as I slowly downsize. THIS lady is a spectacular china head and you will be amazed at how she will take over the room.
First off, she is 35" tall head to feet and weighs in at over 8 pounds unpacked! Her HEAD alone is 8 1/2" tall!
She is in her original cloth body with two layers of beautiful slips over a pair of pantaloons. The marvelous bit is her dress-- a ca 1940s era black dress with original tags inside made by the famous NY fashion designer Larry Aldrich! He was popular in that era for his elegant simplicity and someone took advantage of this black-on-black patterned dress that somewhat resembles a damask look, to repurposed it for this beautiful lady doll. It can use a few simple mends as far as taking a few stitches to shorten the sleeves and add a snap or two or hooks and eyes to the front, there are no rips or issues otherwise/ her cloth body is terrific, and she has cloth feet.
Packed in a suitable box, seated, the package will be around 10 pounds, I pack and weigh for an accurate listing.
But the greatest bit is her GORGEOUS molded face! This is a modified flat top hair style. Circa 1860s to 70s or so. Classic Kestner quality.
The facial molding of this large head is exquisitely detailed is extremely well done and she has great character. Take a look at all the photos. No cracks, no flaws! Again, look at those SPECTACULAR HANDS wow!
She has held court in my doll room for years but as I downsize my collection to find them each new loving homes, I know someone will just have to have her! As I got older I knew it was time to start selling, starting with my larger dolls, rather than have relatives who don't want to deal with my large collection. I have also run out of room!

The large doll stand is not included. These heavy chinas need a good stand, which are usually made with a wide base and wide enough arms to grip the larger torso abut typically the legs and feet will sit on the floor to compensate for the upper body being supported as the heads are heavy. Or she can be seated in a chair.
In some cases I use my usps or ups accounts and get cheaper shipping. If so I will let buyer know. But I have the doll in the box it will ship so this ebay ship quote will be pretty accurate.
Plus fully insured, signature as well if you have any porch pirate issues. I use UPS for these Large boxes so I can get the shipping cost based on buyer address.
